Why is Grooming important?
Grooming is not only for the looks and it’s definitely more than a SPA. Grooming is also for the health of your beloved pet. Self-grooming can be intimidating, so at Lucky’s Dog Grooming we provide the best pampering services available. We check their fur, eyes, ears, nails and bathe them giving relaxing massages for a boost in their daily energy. We also help prevent infections and other complications for a better health condition.
How often should I bring my puppy to the Groomer?
It depends on you and the breed of your dog. The best is to speak to your veterinarian, breeder or groomer. At Lucky’s Dog Grooming we recommend every 6-8 weeks.
How old does my dog have to be to start Grooming?
There isn’t a specific age required to bring your pet in, however, we do recommend that the earlier you bring, the better it is for them. You must start training your dog to endure grooming while he/she is still a puppy (as young as three weeks old), otherwise, the routine might be intense for them later on, especially when cleaning their ears and clipping their nails. At an early stage, your puppy will get used to these appointments and we can keep them happy and healthy, saving your veterinary bills later on. Don’t delay, bring in your puppy at your earliest convenience!
How long should I be away from my dog?
It depends on the size of your dog, the service and the breed. Nail trims and smaller services usually take about 15 minutes. The full services last about 2 hours.
Can I stay and watch my dog while he/she is being groomed?
We have a holding area where you can stay and wait for your pup. For the safety of your pet, we don’t allow parents to assist with grooming or share the bathing areas because it can stress your dog in many ways getting them anxious and delaying the process of grooming.
What shampoos do we use?
We have special doggie shampoos for every occasion. It normally depends on the age of your dog and special coat conditions she/he has. We have puppy shampoo, oatmeal, aromatherapy and others. If your dog is allergic to anything and doctors have recommended a specific shampoo, or if you have one of your preference we can accommodate that during the sessions as well.
If I don’t have an appointment, will I have to pay extra for a faster service?
It depends on how many dogs we have ahead of yours. Even though appointments are more effective, walk-ins are always welcome too. If you’re in a hurry and need your dog to be served firstly, we might apply an extra fee depending on how many dogs came in before you. Keep in mind that weekends are our busiest days and sometimes we have over 25 dogs to groom.
Do you have a Dog Day Care or Boarding?
Unfortunately we don’t provide Boarding services or Day Care yet, but we are working on it.
